Unique national head office for global mining giant
Vale is the world’s second largest mining company. As a newcomer
to the Australian resources sector, the Brazil-based multi-national
wanted an Australian head office that would reinforce its position
as an industry leader. The complex 2000sqm office design called for
unique materials and high end finishes throughout, with a Hewlett
Packard Halo video conferencing facility and computer room. The
project timeline was tight, with works staged across each
floor.
Global CEO impressed
The Vale project specified a number of unique features. The
stainless steel staircase railings were welded and polished to give
the impression of a single, continuous piece. A seven metre high
lava stone wall and office walls with vision slots and LED
backlighting, all presented specific challenges. Our team’s
accuracy in preparing the Halo video conferencing suite was
acknowledged by Hewlett Packard technical staff as among the best
in the world. The completed office was visited by Vale Global CEO
Roger Agnelli, who was reportedly very impressed by the quality and
style of the interior.
