Sustainability enforced by the law
The South Australian Government decided to develop a new
commercial building to accommodate the South Australian Police
Headquarters. The new commercial space had to satisfy specific high
level security requirements, as well as sustainability and NABERS
ratings.
ISIS had to address several concerns of the South Australian
police, including the delivery of integrated base building and
fitout on time and to budget, which involved collaboration with the
base builder in order to achieve the project objectives. Works were
often undertaken in areas where the base build had not yet been
completed, ensuring communication and collaboration were vital. The
nature of the client meant that high levels of security were
required for police tenancy.
The client also required the achievement of Green Star and
NABERS targets. The South Australia police headquarters required a
5 Star Green Star (Office v3 design and as built and Office
Interiors v1.1) rating and a 5 Star NABERS Energy rating.
