Salvation Army walk the talk with Green Star fitout
The popularity of Green Star fitouts is gathering pace with
businesses recognising the benefits of reduced energy consumption,
more efficient lighting, user adjustable heating and cooling as
well as reduced water consumption. The benefits span from a
healthier work environment to an improved bottom line in terms of
energy consumption costs.
When the Salvation Army relocated their headquarters to a newly
constructed facility in Blackburn, it seized the opportunity to
develop a working environment that would align to its core ethical
values by minimising environmental impact.
ISIS created a fitout targeting a 4 Star Green Star
accreditation, spanning 7000m² including a commercial kitchen, band
rehearsal room, chapel, media studio and shop. Throughout the
project ISIS was required to address specific challenges:
- Management of multiple stakeholders in specialist areas
- Long lead times on recycled materials
- Strict control of materials to ensure Green Star
compliance
