Building lore and order for the national crimefighter
Organised crime costs Australia a minimum of $10 billion a year.
So when The Australian Crime Commission set about uniting the
struggle against nationally significant crime, it wanted to be sure
that its Canberra premises were fit for the fight. In fulfilling
the $4.1 million contract, ISIS had to:
- Work around concurrent extension project
- Manage restrictive security and time requirements
- Target a 4.5 Star Green Star and Nabers rating
ISIS successfully completed the two stage operation on the first
and second levels of the ACC building in a tight 10 week
construction program.
The contract called for the installation of a $1 million secure
room in the building’s basement. This, together with sensitivities
surrounding the other contractors’ works, elevated levels of
security across the board. It made access to site less flexible and
reduced working hours, so putting pressure on the ISIS team, which
responded well.
The fitout for the ACC was designed to target a 4.5 Star Green
Star and Nabers (formerly Australian Building Greenhouse Rating)
rating. It included chilled beams, rainwater and daylight
collection, and environmentally sustainable design elements.
Testimonial
‘‘We’re very happy with the standard of work carried out by the ISIS team. It wouldn’t have been easy having to work around other contractors, but your team was communicative and cooperative. That made all the difference to a successful outcome.”
