Chief Executive Officer, ISIS Group - Michael Barnes

Michael Barnes has risen steadily from within the company, from Project Manager to Manager of our ACT branch, to General Manager and now Chief Executive Officer, achieving tremendous success in each demanding role.

Trained as a civil engineer with strong academic qualifications, he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Technology in Sydney, and now has well over twenty years of experience within the construction and refurbishment industries.

Highly motivated, committed to high standards and a strong team leader, Michael is operationally in charge of ISIS Group Holdings. Michael is also a founding Director of the Green Building Council of Australia.

Marketing & Communications Manager, ISIS Group – Mark Cutfield

Mark commenced working with ISIS in January 2008 and reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer. Mark’s team provides Marketing, Communications and Brand guidance and direction across the Group, states and subsidiaries. Mark is responsible for brand strategy, marketing communications, internal communications and corporate citizenship. Mark’s focus is to ensure ISIS consolidates and builds its position as a brand and industry leader.

Before joining ISIS, Mark held a number of senior network advertising agency positions in strategy and global roles in branding and communications in the resource and liquor sector.

Mark has studied Marketing, Strategy and Communications and holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing & Communications.

OHS&E Manager, ISIS Group - Eric Hunter

Eric Hunter commenced working with ISIS in October 2007. He reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer. Eric’s team supports and provides OHS&E guidance across all state and subsidiary operations. His responsibilities cover all aspects relating to Health, Safety and the Environment, with the overall aim to ensure nil harm to ISIS employees and contractors and the environment. Eric is particularly focussed on encouraging behaviours that create and maintain a safe workplace.

Before joining ISIS he was head of a large OHS&E department for one of BHP Billiton’s most productive and profitable mines, with a staff of 23 people. Prior to this Eric held a number of management roles within the OHS&E profession covering industries including mining, construction and retailing.

Eric also has a very strong background in coaching athletes up to the elite level and has served as both the Assistant National and National Coach of Australia in the sport of Triathlon.

Chief Operating Officer, ISIS Group - Gerard McMahon

Gerard McMahon was one of the ISIS founders in 1989. He was the company's Chief Financial Officer from 1989 to 2000. During that time he was closely involved with a number of key initiatives including the introduction of an independently controlled Board of Directors, bringing major investors to the company, the development and implementation of succession planning strategies and the formulation of extensive staff equity programs at ISIS.

In his role as Chief Operating Officer he is responsible for the Operational Excellence Group, Systems & Procedures, Occupational Health Safety & Environmental Management and Corporate Communications.

He is a Registered Building Practitioner in Victoria and holds an Advanced Diploma in Accounting.

Manager Operational Excellence, ISIS Group – John Paterson

John Paterson commenced with ISIS in September 1990 and worked in both marketing and estimating until 1995. John then moved to our corporate strategy area and led the development and deployment of the company’s project delivery systems. He was instrumental in developing our best practice systems which are third party certified in the Quality Assurance, Safety and Environment disciplines.

John now heads up the company’s Operational Excellence area which is responsible for ensuring all ISIS projects are delivered in accordance with the ISIS Project Delivery System to ensure client expectations are continually met and exceeded. He works closely with other senior managers across all facets of the business.

John has a Certificate in Civil Engineering and has extensive experience with other high profile companies in the construction industry including the John Holland Group before he joined ISIS.

Chief Financial Officer, ISIS Group  - Alastair Robertson

Alastair Robertson brings a strong background in both the accountancy profession and the building industry to his role for ISIS.
He received a Bachelor's degree from Macquarie University, majoring in accounting in 1978, and has been a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants since 1979.
Alastair has served as the Financial Controller and Company Secretary for a range of well known public companies before operating his own practice for over 10 years prior to joining ISIS.
Based in our Sydney office, he is responsible for the day-to-day financial and administrative management, as well as the crucial strategic task of keeping financial and general management in line with the company's 5-year Business Plan.
