Kelmscott Memorial Hospital - Albany, Western Australia Major structural works Doubling number of bays
close

Armadale Health Service is made up of a State Government owned-and-operated General Hospital, Aged Care and Rehabilitation Service, Community Health Service and Mental Health Service, located on the Albany Highway in Western Australia.

To meet the needs of a growing population, ISIS was contracted to significantly refurbish the Armadale-Kelmscott Memorial Hospital emergency department.

As part of a state-wide redevelopment, the customer planned to double the number of bays so the emergency department could treat up to 60,000 patients a year.

The communication was often about providing the best emergency care to people in the Armadale-Kelmscott region and constant conversations and thorough planning enabled the project to be completed successfully.

The transformation required the inclusion of a number of state-of-the-art facilities such as dedicated paediatric services, short-stay and fast-treatment bays.

Major structural works to an entire level were carried out with careful consideration for the needs of the adjacent day surgery. With some clever thinking, we were able to minimise disruption to the day-to-day running of the hospital.
