Well positioned and with excellent volumes of floor traffic, the existing Target store in Camberwell, Victoria was in need of a refurbishment to capitalise on its potential.

Clean, open, spacious, bright and modern were the words the customer used in their discussions with ISIS. Tired, outdated, dark, drab and beige – these were the things that had to go.

In the run up to Christmas, we had eight weeks to transform the store. The ISIS project team, in collaboration with Target’s Store and Corporate management, determined that all work would need to be done after closing hours so that normal trading could continue at 9 am. This involved setting up temporary facilities and providing full ISIS supervision 24 hours a day, 5 days a week.

Ceiling heights were lifted, space was reclaimed and reflective tiles, warm flooring and clean white walls all served to allow the customer’s eye to take in the full line of sight. The entry and cash register areas were given a thorough makeover, opening up the space so it felt accessible and welcoming.

The new space was as inspirational to staff as it was to customers, with all agreeing that it represented the things they love about Target. It was smart, modern, well designed and friendly. One of a number of stores that ISIS has refurbished across Australia, Target Camberwell was a retail success story for both parties.
