Soon after ISIS was appointed as Construction Manager for the new Blue on Blue resort areas at Peppers Magnetic Island, we quickly found out this would be no holiday. Working on an island may sound romantic but the reality is that it requires extraordinary attention to detail. Everything that was needed had to be shipped in.
Our communication with the customer began early and included advice on what could be built, how much it would cost, tenders, assessing tenders against budgets and a clear agreement to have a five star finish to the project.
The transformation into a stylish resort involved some meticulous planning, both in terms of people and materials. The commercial kitchen had to be manufactured offshore to complete accuracy and shipped in. When a crane was needed to install mechanical systems, that that had to be shipped in as well.
We created new pubic areas including a restaurant and full commercial kitchen, new reception facilities and lobby, conference rooms, guest bathrooms, a day spa and office facilities.
An inspiration for holidaymakers that redefines the essence of island getaways, the new Peppers Blue on Blue resort gives a sense of effortless charm and contemporary elegance. For everyone that worked on the project, that’s the pleasing result of some very careful planning and clear communication channels.
