Triple J, ABC Centre - Ultimo, Sydney MBA award for interior fitout Continuous operation Relocation of 25,000 CD's
close

Working with Triple J made us very jealous. They have the biggest music collection we have ever seen. In fact, their music library contained around 25,000 CDs and 5,000 records. All of which had to be relocated.

ISIS acted as Design and Construction Managers as part of a national ABC engagement. Our communications with the customer covered several key areas. We needed to complete the fitout in stages because the offices and broadcasting studios would be continuing as normal while we worked. Triple J required new office space, breakouts and suitable lounge areas for staff and visiting rock and roll personalities as well as filming areas for JTV. Oh, and make sure the music library was accessible at all times during relocation.

We carried out the project in four stages over 12 weeks and the transformation of Triple J was a success because we listened to their concerns and acted accordingly. Noiseworks might be a great band, but noisy works in a music studio was not an option. The same with dust and audio equipment. We found clever ways to mix power tools and vacuum cleaners so that dust containment topped the worksite charts.

When we were done, our industry was inspired to give us the equivalent of a gold record. The project was given an MBA award for Interior Fitout between $1 million - $2 million. Music to our ears, really.
