Energy Resources of Australia - Darwin Emphasis on Safety Emotive Design & Build Experience & Knowledge
close

Energy Resources of Australia is one of the largest uranium producers, providing 10 per cent of the world's uranium production. The company’s head office is located in Darwin.

ISIS was asked to manage the fitout of their 1500 square metre offices with a particular emphasis on safety. On-time and on-budget delivery of the project were also communicated as key considerations.

The customer was looking for free-flowing spaces that used natural light from the two previously unused atriums and an open floor plan. Emotive design elements including an aluminium ‘tree screen’ were used as visual dividers.

Through close consultation with the architect, customer and subcontractors, ISIS was able to use our experience and knowledge to achieve cost savings without compromising the integrity of the design.

In terms of safety, we worked closely with ERA to be able to use our own OHS&E systems and procedures. These were externally audited by a representative of Rio Tinto. We had a real win with this. After minor changes, ISIS is now one of four contractors in Australia allowed to use our own OHS&E policies and procedures. We also received Rio Tinto’s Quarterly Safety award.

The customer is now able to enjoy an inspirational workplace with light, space and a new outdoor area. Our positive relationship has grown to include follow-up work and a request to conduct a Green Star study of the office.
